In December 2007, the lighting died. The estimate for the lighting project was over $40,000. Since our drama program and tech crew program would be severely limited without lighting, we proposed that the district assist us with funds for the electrical work needed to be done to the theatre. The dimmer system was non-functioning, was a safety hazard and a fire hazard. The current lights were also a fire hazard. Along with the proposal to the district a few fundraisers were also set into motion. The district started researching fundraising options and the middle school was also brought on board. The district this fall then came forward and announced that $40,000 be allotted to assist us with our electrical rewiring and dimming systems for the theatre, to complete Phase 1. We were very excited and continued with our fundraising.........
