TEACHING POSITIONS

 Competitions for teaching positions are always advertised on our website, Career Beacon and in all schools within the district. Depending on the competition, it may be advertised in the Telegraph Journal as well.

When applying for teaching positions please submit a cover letter with resume, copy of teacher certification, copies of transcripts and names of three references.  If you are selected for an interview you may feel free to bring your teaching portfolio to the meeting.

 

CASUAL: Non-Teaching

Applications for casual employment are available at School District 10 office or you may click on the link to complete the application online. Employment inquiries can be made by contacting the Human Resources Department at (506) 466-7910. Please submit you application to:

Minimum Requirements for being a replacement employee:

  • All casual positions require a Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Criminal Record Check
    • Employer reserves the right to reject any application depending on the nature of the conviction.
  • Comprehension and completion of online test for Policy 701: Pupil Protection Policy
  • Comprehend and agree to adhere to our district guidelines for conduct in the workplace

 

The hiring process for casual employees is as follows:
Applications are reviewed and processed for interviews on an annual basis or as needed.  Depending on the volume of applicants additional merit criteria may be considered in order to short list applicants. The Human Resources department will contact applicants to arrange for an interview. Once you have a successful interview and orientation session will take place prior to you being added to the list.

         

In the case of casual school bus drivers you must successfully complete the bus driver training course prior to being added to the list. For more information regarding this course, contact Dave Breault, Transportation Manager at 466-7474.

 

PERMANENT, SUPPORT STAFF

Employment Process (Teacher Assistants, Administrative Assistants, Library Assistants, Custodians and Bus Drivers)

 

Competitions for Support Staff positions are advertised on our website and in each school. Competitions are open to members of the applicable bargaining group. However, persons who are on the casual list may apply for competitions for the corresponding bargaining group at the same time. Often there is no need to re-advertise to the public as positions are filled from within the bargaining group or from the casual list.

Depending on the position and number of applicants, testing may be conducted prior to awarding a position. For example, if a Teacher Assistant applies for a School Administrative position, his/her computer skills will be tested for his/her knowledge using the Microsoft Office Suite. 

 

SUPPLY TEACHERS

  • Comprehension and completion of online test for Policy 701: Pupil Protection Policy
  • Comprehend and agree to adhere to our district guidelines for conduct in the workplace
  • ***Certified Teachers are preferred for supply teaching opportunities however, we do issue local permits to individuals who qualify on a yearly basis.
